Seeding Galveston provides home delivery of fresh fruits and produce through its CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program. Bright yellow boxes of produce are delivered each Sunday to CSA members who pay for a season’s deliveries (three months) in advance. The box contents vary by the season and according to what is available and being harvested at Seeding Galveston farm sites in any given week. Some weeks the boxes are overflowing with as many as 6-10 different items; other weeks might have a lesser quantity.
All fruits and vegetables are grown without pesticides and with organic fertilizers.
Deliveries are made 48 weeks of the year; the current cost is $300 a season, which is $25 a box. The four seasons for CSA deliveries are winter (January-March); spring (April – June); summer (July-September); and fall (October- December). Deliveries are made to your front porch, usually mid to late afternoon on Sundays. The delivery person will pick up the empty box from last week and leave a full box in its stead.
Farm fresh eggs and other farm related products re available on occasion at extra cost.
Check out the sidebar under Farm Stand Markets for what’s available any given week. Also check out the recipes on the blog for how to use the veggies we grow and distribute.
