Our mission is to provide a sustainable source of nutritional food for residents of Galveston Island.

To fulfill its mission, Seeding Galveston will develop urban farm sites throughout Galveston Island, creating a sustainable agricultural program to benefit Island food banks and the needy and promoting and teaching sustainable farm techniques, nutritional food choices and community service.

The goals of Seeding Galveston are:

  1. To provide a sustainable agricultural program, making island-fresh fruits and vegetables, eggs and goat dairy products available to residents year-round;
  2. To establish a system whereby island food banks and other support systems for the needy could share in the bounty of nutritional local produce;
  3. To establish classes and other educational resources on the island to promote and teach sustainable farming techniques and the importance of nutritious food choices; and
  4. To develop ancillary businesses to support the urban farm concept.
